In 1909 the name Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club came into existence. From this date a committee of our most progressive business and professional gentlemen set themselves to the task of creating the first Squash Racquet Club.

The first building was located at 79 Donald Street just south of Broadway. The early records of the Club make fascinating reading for any Winnipeg historian as the names mentioned read like a “WHO’S WHO” of the young city’s business world.

The original Club building finally yielded to progress in 1958 when it was sold to a financial institution for part of its Canadian head office grounds. From this sale grew the fine new Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club on the present site at 275 Stradbrook Avenue, with a doubles and four singles international style courts.

Since then the Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club has endeavored to continue to upgrade its facilities and provide a modern environment for our membership.

The Club is arguably one of the finest sport and recreation facilities of its kind in Canada providing one of the venues for Squash, Business and social networking.

We take pride in offering elite squash programs, National and International tournaments, and the development of a very active junior program
